Tips on CIS installation

Prefill the ink bottles matching the color code, leave the bottle
top open until the installation is completed.

Prime the cartridge as shown in the video sequence to rid of air
in the cartridge and the ink feed ribbon.
                                                           

  • Mount the ink ribbon so it can move freely and install the
    cartridge to test free movement.

  • Run nozzle check no more than 2 time if possible.  
    Excessive cleaning will damage the printer.

Step 5: Turn on the switch and prime the cartridges

Note: Purging air from the bottom of the cartridge will help rid of the air pocket and get the cleaning fluid into the
nozzle for faster for better cleaning.  The same is true when air is removed and ink is allowed to get in this narrow
passage leading to the print nozzle.  ( see photo on the left )

Removing the syringe by slowly pulling it straight out.  Careful not to remove the plastic film.  The rubber seal is
held in place by this film seal.

  1. Show how to switch on the air/electrical switch before priming the cartridges.
  2. Show how to prime the cartridge by using (syringes ) to remove air from the cartridges and let the vacuum to fill
    the system with ink.
  3. Syringes should be inserted at a slight angle to allow air flow.
