Tips on CIS installation

Preinstall the cartridge to test the mounting position and for chip
recognition. Gently remove the cartridge cover to avoid
damage. Keep the cover in a safe place.

Connect the ink ribbon connector to the main tank unit,
alternate pressure on the tiny screws to finger tight

Prefill the ink bottles matching the color code, leave the
bottle top open until the installation is completed.

Prime the cartridge as shown in the video sequence to rid
of air in the cartridge and the ink feed ribbon.

Mount the ink ribbon so it can move freely and install the
cartridge to test free movement.

Run nozzle check no more than 2 time if possible.
Excessive cleaning will damage the printer.

Step 2: Testing Cartridge and Chip recognition before filling the system with ink - installing the
cartridge will also puncture the bottom seal to make it easier to purge the air from the cartridge.

Note: Purging air from the bottom of the cartridge will help rid of the air pocket and get the cleaning fluid into the
nozzle for faster for better cleaning. The same is true when air is removed and ink is allowed to get in this narrow
passage leading to the print nozzle. ( see photo on the left )

procedure is recommended to avoid unexpected cartridge or chip problem.
