How does the chip reset? The Epson R1900 and the R2880 are made to reject auto reset chips. In addition, these two printer are know to have trouble recognizing Epson cartridges sometimes. See " R2880 Genuine Ink Errors " " R2880 rejecting new cartridges "
The R1900 chips reset by re-seating the cartridge when the ink level reached 20%. At this point, the software ink monitor pops up a low ink warning indicating the cartridge needs to be replaced. By re-seating the cartridge, the ink level will be brought to full from the 20% level. If there are more than one cartridge that is very close to 20%, both cartridges will be reset at the same time. Do not wait too long to reset the chips. When the chip reaches zero level, the chip will not reset. Unplugging the power cord may reset the chip at "zero" level as indicated by the software. The printer cartridge LED is another indicator the chip should be re-set. A chip resetter will be available very soon. You could use the chip resetter to reset the chip.
Caution The printer has a service counter to keep track of how long the printer has been in use. If the service counter reaches the maximum value, the printer will display an " end of service life " message. Eventually the service counter must be reset or the printer will no longer print. The SSC utility will reset the service counter for many Epson printers. However, the SSC cannot reset the R1900. Support for this printer is not yet aont> A number of things will increase the service counter value. 1. Exchanging cartridges - each time the cartridge is swapped, the service counter value will go up. Avoid r emoving and installing the cartridge. Re-seat the cartridge only when the ink level needs to be reset. 2. Cleaning cycles - Epson driver reminds you to run the cleaning cycle to get the print head clean. Cleaning cycles increase the service counter value.
Hello, I just bought a r1900, primarily for printing on premium luster paper. How compatible are your pigment inks for this paper? also what would be the cost to get set up with these refillable cartridges and a complete set of 4oz inks. And what is the cost when ordering only colors I need. The R1900 ink set is excellent for luster and matte paper. It is slightly less glossy compare to Epson inks. Refillable cartridge is not available for sale because it has not been tested with the inks. Single bottle is available.
And I would guess your set of inks for this machine uses the orange color that replaced the blue is that correct? Orange and Yellow are different. The other colors are the same.
